Country Love (Eric Waterman) tabs

I was born in late November
in a small, two-room shack,
We had no indoor plumbing,
just a little shack out back;
An old wood stove, an oil lamp,
good Lord, times were bad,
But love was the one good thing we had.

Dad would tune his fiddle
and play a jig or two,
Mom would sing I'se The B'y,
we were never blue;
Each night we'd kneel and say a prayer
before we went to bed,
'Cause love was the one good thing we had.

Yes, we had lots of good old country love,
That's one thing we had plenty of;
It kept us warm in winter time,
Made you laugh when times were sad,
Love was the one good thing we had.

Now we have indoor plumbin',
a closet full of clothes,
Color TV on the wall, an automatic stove;
Electric lights that shine so bright,
I guess we've got it made,
Now love is the one thing that we need.

So many years have come and gone,
but still I can't forget,
When I fall to sleep at night,
in dreams I wander back,
Back to the days when times were hard,
I know that times were bad,
But love was the one good thing we had.

Yes, we had lots of good old country love,
The kind of love the world needs plenty of;
It kept us warm in winter time,
Made you laugh when times were sad,
Love was the one good thing we had.
There's nothing quite as good as country love.
