Well, I 'm selling everything I own, the kitchen table, too,
I really didn't watch too much TV;
The stereo ain't been turned on, got more things to do,
Guess it didn't mean that much to me.
The chesterfield that I slept on instead of going to bed,
I sold it to the neighbour yesterday;
The guitar I played to write this song as it came in my head,
Is the only thing I'm taking along the way.
There's a great big world a-waitin' down the highway,
And there's a lotta places I ain't ever seen;
You can't slow me down 'cause nothin's getting in my way,
I got gypsy blood runnin' through my veins.
The train she rides beside me keeps me company for a mile,
As I rolled the window down to feel the breeze;
And I slipped into the cradle of two truckers for a while,
The sun she slowly rises 'bove the trees.
There's a great big world a-waitin' down the highway,
And there's a lotta places I ain't ever seen;
You can't slow me down 'cause nothin's getting in my way,
I got gypsy blood runnin' through my veins.
