Grandmother's Old Rocking Chair

In Grandmother's old rocking chair,
I travel the universe time and again,
Seen dragons and saved maidens fair;
Fought for my country and won many wars,
In Grandmother's old rocking chair.

I've outgunned the gunslinger many a time,
While riding that old chestnut mare;
Brought in the outlaws and cleaned up the town,
in Grandmother's old rocking chair.

So rock-a-bye baby and rock-a-bye me,
Rock-a-bye Granny while Granddad's at sea;
Setting and knitting some solace she found,
While praying for Granddad's return safe and sound.

I circled the planet and looked at the world,
From millions of miles in the air;
Soared with the birds and than lightly touched down,
In Grandmother's old rocking chair.

Now Granny has gone to her final reward,
And Granddad has joined her up there;
And whenever the toils of this world gets me down,
I just set in that old rocking chair.

And rock-a-bye baby and rock-a-bye me,
Rock back and forth with those old memories;
Rock away troubles and rock away cares,
I'm at peace with the world in that old rocking chair.

So rock-a-bye baby and rock-a-bye me,
Rock-a-bye Granny while Granddad's at sea;
Setting and knitting some solace she found,
While praying for Granddad's return safe and sound.
