Little sister, don't you cry,
I'll be coming back again;
Wipe those tears from your eyes,
This is not the end.
Remember all the things we said,
I believe they're true;
Little sister, I'll be coming home to you.
Little sister, it's a long, long time,
For me to be away;
Hold on a little bit longer
Till I can come back home to stay.
Your sweet soul music's going to carry me,
Your love will see me through;
Little sister, I'll be coming home to you.
Bridge:
You're the one I'm singing for.
I think about you every day;
A love so fine I want to let it shine,
Not tarnish or fade away.
Driving down the highway,
Walking through a meadow of green;
Little sister, you are everything I see.
And when the blossoms are on the trees,
And the neighborhood is full;
Like a lover walking in the night,
And listening to the radio.
I'll walk up to your door,
And take you by the hand;
Little sister, we will walk together again.
And I will take you by the hand,
Little sister, we will walk together again;
Oh, I will take you by the hand,
Little sister, we will walk together again.
