Merry Christmas From Home (Kevin Collins)

The lights are shining, what a scene,
as we talk to their machine,
Mom and Dad send their love on the phone;
We got your gift in the mail,
and we sure miss you today,
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from home.

Your dear dad cut the tree,
and we trimmed it Christmas Eve,
But it's just not the same with you gone;
Having dinner without you, it's a big job for two,
Bye for now, please give us a call.

Busy faces all around, and the snow is falling down,
And it's so hard to say on the phone;
Even though you're far away,
we just want to call and say,
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from home.

Oh, the Mummers just walked in,
our sad faces turn to grins
But it seems there's a new crowd this year;
As we look beneath their clothes -
Oh, my God, I know that nose,
And we just cannot hold back the tears.

So we ask God today, for our families far away,
Keep them happy and safe o'er the foam;
Though we seem far apart,
we want to say with all our heart,
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from home.

Busy faces all around, and the snow is falling down,
And it's hard spending Christmas alone;
Even though we're far apart,
we want to say with all our heart,
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from home.

From all of us to all of you,
we want to send this wish to you,
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from home.
