Number One (Jim Fidler) (Hospitality's Pavilion)

Now, there's a little place that I know, that you'd be going to,
If you knew where to go, and how to find this little spot,
A dandy little hole-in-the-wall around the corner,
From the bottom of the alley where the young'uns go to hop.

The beauty in the eye of the beholder is a factor,
That I would be quite remiss if I were not to make a note;
But, I'll tell you that she's charming, and don't find it too alarming,
When I tell you that it's just the place to lubricate your throat.

Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.
Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.

Well, from Sunday until Saturday, you'll never opportune to stray
Into another cabaret, and have a better time;
They'll greet you with a smile, and before too long a while,
You'll be void of any guile, and approaching the sublime.

You'll see all sorts of faces on all different kinds of places,
But you'll never find a trace of anything that can compare
With the one out of a million, Hospitality's Pavilion,
Just the place to get your fill in, if you haven't got a care.

Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.
Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.

Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.
Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.

Now, if this seems exaggerated, and you think I'm too elated
'Bout the point that I've related to you in this little song,
You'll need no hard persuasion if you find the good occasion to
Frequent this little station, then come, tell me that I'm wrong.

I've seen the pubs in Boston and the little bars in Austin,
And I've done my share of waltzing through the streets of Montreal;
But there's not a place that's half so grand,
As this little place in Newfoundland,
With tunes and pints to beat the band, she stands above them all.

Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.
Number one in the land; everybody give a hand.
