Home Beside The Sea

I'm gonna live beside the ocean,
That's where I'll spend my twilight days,
In a cottage near the shoreline,
Where I'll always hear the waves.

For I was born beside the water,
And I was raised to know the tide,
But now the yearning deep within me,
Can no longer be denied.

I can't complain about the city,
It's been my livelihood for years,
Providing means to raise my family,
Though not without some sweat and tears.

I'm gonna take what I've got coming,
For a lifetime's worth of toil,
And from there on I'll lay my table,
By the sea and from the soil.

I can't complain about the city,
It's been my livelihood for years,
Providing means to raise my family,
Though not without some sweat and tears.

This is a lovely place to visit,
But thirty years is just too long,
I'm taking just the things I treasure,
And I'm going back where I belong.

I was alone when I arrived here,
And now alone again I'll leave,
This circle cannot be completed,
Until I'm home beside the sea.

Hmm.... Hmm.... Hmm....
