I fish for a living, I got a wife and two children,
When the sun says good morning, I say goodbye to the land;
I love the feel of my jigger on the tips of my fingers,
As the seagulls look down on the dory boat man.
You can keep your longliners and your fancy fish finders,
I owe no man nothing and I like what I am;
So, when you're out fishing, toss a wave my direction,
You got a friend after meeting the dory boat man.
My pickup's a Chevy and she's always dirty,
But we're always ready to lend you a hand;
I get a moose every winter, and you're welcome to dinner,
So come down and visit the dory boat man.
You can keep your longliners and your fancy fish finders,
I owe no man nothing and I like what I am;
So, when you're out fishing, toss a wave my direction,
You got a friend after meeting the dory boat man.
Can't wait for the weather to get a little better,
'Cause I don't like the feeling when I'm stuck on the land;
The fish they're awaiting, and I'm getting impatient,
There's fish in the blood of the dory boat man.
You can keep your longliners and your fancy fish finders,
I owe no man nothing and I like what I am;
So, when you're out fishing, toss a wave my direction,
You got a friend after meeting the dory boat man.
