I've fished on the Grand Banks, I've drilled for the oil,
I've wandered away to the Vancouver Isle,
Then back-tracked again to Ontario ground,
Met the girl of my dreams from St. John's, Newfoundland.

From Halifax to Dartmouth with my buddies I did stay,
All through the Canso Causeway and along the Cabot Trail;
I settled in Surrey in a place down by the sea,
Where Prince Edward Island is Heaven to me.
