Hope you
enjoy the first oldie car show I have ever photographed and
placed in a show. This car show occurred on July 18, 2004 at the
Burlington, Washington, Berry Dairy Days. The huge parade was
held on July 17, 2004. You will need to experience guessing the
make's and model's of cars as I did not have pencil and paper to
write the facts down. Perhaps I'll cover that next year. Enjoy
please.
Midi tune playing: "At The Hop" made famous by Danny And The
Juniors. Early in 1958 Dick Clark presented Danny And The Juniors
with a gold record for "At The Hop" on American Bandstand, the
first of many awards and accolades they would receive over their
career, including Best New Group of 1957 and, more recently, the
prestigious Philadelphia Music Alliance Achievement Award.
Just a personal note . . . Lois and I had lunch with Dick Clark
and his wonderful wife Karen in Fargo, North Dakota, back in (we
think about 1987) at a fast food place on 18th Ave North. Lois
still has her signed autograph and I didn't run outside and
announce . . . hey . . . we are lunching with Dick and Karen
Clark. Hard for me to believe I contained myself with such good
manners.
