WASHINGTON FALL FLOWERS

"Washington Rose From Rose's Garden"

Midi playing: "Endless"

IMG028ds.jpg

On October 30, 2003, I realized we had not had frost yet here in Washington, so set about the task of taking those final fall pictures of flowers. The tame flowers are from Lois's garden, our neighbor Rose's garden and our daughter Julie's garden yard. The wild flowers, some with insect life, are from my garden. I specialize in wild flowers as they require so little care!

All pictures were taken with an Olympus C4000 digital camera. A black or white umbrella was used to shelter the flowers from direct sun while being photographed and I also used a miniature spot flashlight to illuminate the centers of some flowers. The only editing used was to color frame the picture, then used Image Magic Studio to bevel and raise the frame, and the byte size of all pictures was reduced approximately 80% for use on the web.

This show is dedicated to 8 year old Brooke from Bellingham, Washington, who wrote me a very neat letter thanking me because I had repaired one of her toys. Brooke, your letter is a keeper and thank you very much.
