How neat to hear from you Paula and Ed. Please send us a picture of Gus: and I will frame the doggy's picture and make it available in the IFRAME on Page One and feature Nora Jones signing "Come Away". Whenever Nora is the featured volcalist on my photo for a day or two that IFRAME just goes nuts. Thanks for signing the guest book.

I am the web master for the new FairHaven Cafe that used to be Denise's Fairhaven Cafe. Just go to goggle search and type in FairHaven Cafe and click on the "I feel lucky" button. It will load . . . then follow some fun directions . . . don't miss Bessie Dancing . . . she is the mascot for the FairHaven Cafe. Have your speakers on as Bessie will dance to "Move It On Over", an old Hank Williams Sr. tune I believe. Until we meet at your office or the FairHaven Cafe . . . . God Bless Both Of You.

Hi Gene & Lois,

I kept searching and searching in my brain the name of the song that I caught re-played on the radio. You know how it is, you can't rest till you remember that thing, be it an actor's name, a book title, or whatever. I searched for the words of the song that had been in my head, and your site, the page with "Still" was on it among lots of other links, but my eyes caught sight of the lyrics in the line under the URL, and I knew that I'd found a clue.

I am so glad you decided that The Living Years was a song for all time. I can cry just singing along with this. Now I can hear it all the time because I found it's title. Thanks, and I will read more on your page...

I've really enjoyed my stay here this evening and how clever for you to install an IFRAME in your home page where people will be able to view the active comments coming from your guest entries and who knows what else can be viewed in this IFRAME without ever leaving your home page. My horse done told me that this clever thought was just like eating oats with sugar on em. Me thinks he knows what heeess talking about cause he has been my pal for 14 years. We'll wonder back again another day to check things out. I clicked on the word The "Wallpaper" in that one guest entry JUST AFTER PRESSING DOWN THE ESCAPE KEY and low and behold here was Randy Dorman playing beautiful music again. He is something else, yep believe me he sure is. Until later . . . all the best. Tex

Our friend John just mailed The Dirt Road story to us and we enjoyed it sooo much and mailed it on to other friends. I grew up in the country in Central Wisconsin and almost every day in the summer walked up a dirt road to my friend's house where we would take our dolls and wander to the "Woods" on her Dad's farm to play. What wonderful memories. How true this all is and how sorry I am for all the people who grew up without knowing any dirt roads.

Sylvia Garofalo guest book entry

Yesterday we received a forward from a fellow resident of the beautiful Bonner Peak Ranch subdivision we share with 60 plus other landowners here. What beautiful pictures adorning the "Dirt Roads" pages!!! Our roads here are also dirt and get complaints occasionally. The people who need to move back to paved roads are the complainers. I am getting ready for our 11th Annual Open House, Quilt Raffle and Crafts Show in Virginia Dale, CO, just 15 miles north of me. I belong to and am presently president of the Virginia Dale Community Club which owns the l862 Overland Stage Station, a 1909 log house, and 10 acres of land. The properties were deeded to the community of Virginia Dale by Fred & Maude Maxwell so that this rural ranching area--no "town" per se--would always have a place for meetings, socials and functions related to the Virginia Dale Community Church which was built in 1880. You may have heard that this church was burned down by an arsonist in Nov 2003, who was apprehended and is serving a sentence presently. Through the valiant efforts of Pastor Richard Groh--pastor of this small historic church--hundreds of contractors, suppliers, and especially those who had some previous connection to this area or who were strangers who drove by and stopped in to meditate for a moment or sought shelter in a snow storm--the church has been rebuilt almost exactly as it originally was and reopened for their monthly services in April 2004!!! I apologize for getting carried away here, but we are so excited by all the love and hard work demonstrated at that time of loss. A majority of the church members are also members of the Virginia Dale Club. We give tours of the Stage Station on request for individuals and/or groups who just want to see what a Stage Station was really like. The Open House on Sat., June 12 is our one big fund raiser of the year. It runs from 9:00 am to 4 am. For the last 6 years we have created a quilt to raffle to help raise funds to maintain the Stage Station. We have butter making, wool spinning, soap making and Mt. Man demonstrations throughout the day; area crafters selling their hand-made goods from pottery, wood toys and furniture, jewelry and more; home made "spud" donuts cooked by one of our members on the wood stove in the kitchen of the 1909 log "club house"; lunch and baked goods available for purchase, and games like cow pie contests for young and young at heart! Just had to share that with you. Oh, one more thing--all kids who attend get their name put in --at no charge--for a lap sized quilt! The theme is trains this year, so the raffle quilt has RR tracks all around outside with some photo scenes of the old trestle at Dale Creek--just over the Wyoming border from Virginia Dale--and pictorial scenes of mountains., a train station, a ranch with a barn and animals, a water tower, and a boy sitting in a tree--barefoot with overalls--which are hand and machine appliquéd. Also a photo block of the Virginia Dale Church, Ames monument, and a stage coach. I guess I got so excited because of the "Dirt Roads" pictures and verses. Thank you for putting it together. Sincerely, Sylvia Garofalo, President, Virginia Dale Community Club.

Hi and Thank You !!!! I have a friend who so far has sent me wonderful things from your site. I had to go check it out myself. I love it all and I am impressed by the Princess. Much more majestic than my Bob the Baby, Little Bean Blossom and the ever so handsome Allis Charmer. Washington state must be even more beautiful than I ever imagined. My very first boyfriend moved there way back in '58 or '59. OK, I was 5 at the time. My wonderful half sister was born there in the early '70's. Someday . . . someday I will visit. Thank you again. When I find myself in front of the computer which is not often, I find myself in front of your site. Simply beautiful. Gene's comment: Thank you Dana for this complement and what a new direction your FairHaven Cafe is headed for. Your business is truely an asset to Skagit County. Lois and I are honored to be choosen to develope your FairHaven Cafe web site. Just before writing this I ( Gene ) took a break to photo a pair of Barn Swallows that will nest above our patio deck. They allowed me to come within 2 feet for 3 close up photo's this evening and did not fly away. The picture is above. Sending thanks from the Barn Swallows for the cracked egg shells from your FairHaven Cafe (placed in a jar lid nailed to a post). They already feasted on them.

It is so grand to hear from you TTT. If visitors are wondering what this stands for it is my nick name for Rose and it stands for Tumbling Tumble Tweed. I enjoyed (for a short moment) the Cow Puzzle you sent me today. Receiving a score of 6 the first time and 13 the last time leaves me believing I am not the cowboy from North Dakota that I used to be. You asked some great questions about The Fairhaven Cafe in Burlington, Washington, and when the menu is published your questions will become answered. Please say hello to John for me and keep coming around. You are always enjoyed and pray you have had a great First Day of Spring.

Hello Jim and great to hear from you. I can only recommend cleaning the cache of your computer or retry these shows again when the web is not so congested as it was Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If anyone else is having a problem on my pages just drop me an email.

Our many thanks to you and your dad. I really enjoyed putting the panorama pics together, especially of the Concorde in Seattle.

Andie, I am willing to bet you already have the knowledge to begin building your site, only three years ago I wrote a webmaster and said those same things to him you have said here. First it begins with a vision and desire to create a page . . . you can start the motion by building your first web pages with the AOL web building tools . . . that is where we started. Need more help, just call on us. All the best to you and hope to here from you again.

Well folks when I first met you via your website simply by accident through surfing, I thought then what nice people. Then as we got to know each other via emails, and you generously sponsored me for my marathon in Belgium for the Arthritis Society of Canada I really thought,'these are really really nice people". Now today as I open my email and find the most beautiful music for me to 'wiggle' to as I start a new day given to me by God, I definitely am convinced that the two of you are his 'personal angels' sent to earth to lead us someplace special. You have the souls of angels so I can't think otherwise. May you be forever in the love and light of God as you both continue to spread it throughout the world via the internet. God Bless You Both Again and Again and Again....Juniebeth

Juniebeth, In The Mood just got posted in our midi page for those that like good music when doing housework or whatever! Thank you for this wonderful book entry, it will make our entire month of March . . . . Grin.

Dan, I have been browsing and listening to your music and enjoying all your tunes. Your rendition of "Blue Moon" (In The Listening Room)has got me humming this morning. You are fantastic on trumpet and the keystrokes on guitar sound so familiar. . . .who is it?

Well, I did my own research in your pages and now I know who is playing guitar on "Blue Moon". I even guessed correctly!
~ Gene ~

I sure do find a calming respite whenever I visit your nest. I checked out dad's painting and genes' applet and what a wonderful tribute! I'm glad to be back from our travels and hooked up again on the net so that I can 'visit' you again from time to time. Thanks for the wonderful places to go!
