J.R. & Jenny's Page

When I became a cat "owner", I quickly learned how different these creatures are from the dogs I'd always had before. And it didn't take long to find out the truth behind the expression, "Curiosity killed the cat." :-) These are some pictures I snapped the first few weeks that J.R. and his mom, Jenny came to live with me. Since many of my fellow pet owners have heard me ramble on about the more humorous adventures of these roommates of mine, I decided to include them on my homepage. Besides, both cats were an integral part of making this homepage. They were either in my lap or on my keyboard, encouraging me on the whole time. You others who have feline roommates understand what I mean. -LOL-

This is J.R. picking out a favorite book to read before bedtime. The bookshelf is still one of his favorite spots. He's quite well-read by now, and T.S. Elliott is his favorite author.

J.R. doesn't approve of the way I arrange my shoes in the closet, so he keeps them in his idea of order. Here Jenny supervises the job.

Jenny participates in the Neighborhood Watch Program by keeping a suspicious eye on the ever menacing Yorkshire Terrier next door. J.R., who isn't known for his bravery when it comes to other animals, hides on this side of the curtain.

Jenny, being only a year
older than her son, quite often relinquishes her
parental responsibilities and joins him as a
playmate. Here they play together, to the delight of
J.R. who thinks his mom is kewl.

A Cat's Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray this cushy life to keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice
And sofa cushions, soft and nice,
For grocery bags where I can hide
Just like a tiger crouched inside!
I pray for gourmet kitty snacks
and someone nice to scratch my back,
For windowsills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore at night.
I pray I'll always stay real cool
And keep the secret feline rule
To NEVER tell a human that
The world is really ruled by cats!
