"Cooking On your V-12 Catapillar Engine"
It's tough to get a good hot meal on the job.
I was operating a Dredge and getting back to shore was a problem.
After hundreds of COLD Sandwiches,i decided to start getting inventive.....hey i was starving....Geeeez.
Here are some cooking tips for the job site.
One day while raiding the fridge for my lunch i came across PORK ROAST MMMMMMMM.
I want that but i like it hot.
Hmmmmmm how can i get it hot?
The V-12's exhaust stack temperature gets to 800°F running normal and 1050°F under a full load.
Tee Hee Hee....Martha Stewart?....eat your heart out.
Oven......I need a oven.

Hmmmmmmm
COFFEE CAN!!!!
I grabbed the Coffee can and dumped the coffee into a tupperware container.
Oven Door?
TIN FOIL!
Ohhhh i'm good!

"Hi Ho"
"Hi Ho"
"It's off to work i go"
I put some ice packs into the lunch box along with my sliced roast.
While i was working i thought about temperature and timing.
This is gonna be kinda tricky cause i never used a 800°F oven before.
About an hour before lunch i put the tin foil wrapped roast into the coffee can.
Covered it over with tin foil.
I used 16 gauge mechanics wire to secure the can to the exhaust stack and said a little prayer.
In about 15 minutes the cab was starting to smell pretty good.
MMMMMMMM
I ran down to the Engine room every 15 minutes to flip the roast around....for even heating ya know.
By noon the Dredge smelled really great!
I grabbed a shop towel (clean one) and ran down to grab dinner.
When i opened it there was the best site in the world......MMMMMM
OUCH! OUCH!.....VERY hot.
Geeeeeeez I forgot the bread.
And a fork and knife would of been nice too.
Hope this helps some hungry soul out there.
I bid you gun grease wishes and diesel fuel dreams.
Robin Leach eat your heart out too.
