Caring for your Worms

Hi and welcome to caring for your Worms

Worms are one of gods little miracles.
We use the little guys and lets not forget the little girls, for fishing and they really know how to tunnel through a yard.
Yes it's hard being a worm cause of the way they help us obtain food.
Do we ever say thanks to our worms??....I THINK NOT.
They give their little lives to us in the pursuit of that big Bass or Catfish.
We must learn how to treat our little friend the worm.
So i've consulted with the monks way up in caves in the Hymilayas.
I was impressed with what they told me.
Did you know that most worms are very shy?
Yes they are very very shy.
Also when i say feeding your worms i don't mean feed them to your bird.

Try being a friend to your worms maybe try adopting one or become a big brother or sister to one, they will return your love.
I always take my worm to the beach to play in the sand and catch some rays.

This is Oscar and i even bought him some cool glasses so he can scope out the ladies.
He is a real babe magnet.
I will really miss him the next time i go fishing ~pout~
I will dedicate the fish dinner to Oscar.
Everyone describes our little tunnelers as dirty, slimey, and sometimes even gross.
Ok so they are a bit slimey and they move a little dirt through their bodies like water through a pipe, but gross??....not really...not if you dress them right.

Things you need for your worm

#1 is a place to keep them.
My worms get the best i use a match box lined with a silk cloth.
I put a tiny little mattress in it along with a pillow and blanket.
#2 I made a little shower for them to get rid of that slime.
#3 When your ready to take them fishing try and get a hook that is smaller than the worm cause they may stretch a bit but even they have their limits.
#4 Try and put yourself in the worms place....would you really like to be thrusted onto a hook??
I think not so bring a long something to help them before they go on the hook.
I use a hammer.....one well placed smack on the head and they will never know what happened.
What? you don't know which end is the head?
Just say real loud HEY! and the end that looks up is the head.
It would be nice if you sneak up on your worm and smack him so he won't see it coming.

Thats all for this edition of Caring for your Worm.
In my next article we will discuss clothing options for your worm and where to get the best buys on accessories.
