These pages are dedicated to our seven little people. Six have already passed on. Those six, Pugger, Fritzy, Sam, Missy, Pepper and Mike along with the new guy Max, have been our lives for 30 years. If you haven't guessed by now, all seven are PUGS.
Our introduction to these little people started out strange. The boss (Nancy) was looking for a parakeet. We were in the mall one evening just before closing and strolled into a pet shop to look at the puppies. We walked to the back of the shop where the puppies were displayed in their pens. We spied this little fanny with a curly tail just shakng all over the place. It was feeding time and his only interest was food so we could not see his face. I turned and headed for the door. I was about 2 shops away when I heard" Jim, come here". I turned and again Nancy said "come here". When I got close she said "you have to see this puppy. He is so ugly, he is cute". As we neared the display area, I saw a black face with a curly tail attached to a little, no, tiny fanny going a hundred miles an hour.
The store clerk had walked back and asked if we would like to see him up close. Sure. Why not. He carried out this little guy that fit into the palm of his hand. He handed him to me. I handled him with both hands. Boy was he small. I walked over to an open area and sat on the floor.
I straighten my legs out as if to form a little cul de sac for this puppy. I petted him, talked to him and did a little rough housing. If he started to stray too far, I would say "come on back little one". He would stop, turn his head to look at me and after a short pause would run back to me. After about 5 minutes of play time, we added a new member to our household. This addition began a love affair for Pugs that has been going on now for 30+ years.
