       I obtained Judy Holliday's FBI files through a Freedom of Information Act request. I limited the scope of my request to just the files pertaining to Communist allegations. The file is 64 pages in length, with the FBI withholding another 20 pages entirely. To make reading these documents easier, I have transcribed the text instead of just scanning the actual document. Here is a sample of what one of the actual files looks like. Even 50 plus years later, there is still some information contained in these documents that is considered confidential and thus has been blacked out by the FBI. The censored information includes the names of all informants and some FBI agents. If the name of the individual is known and has been published previously by other sources, I have added it in an italic font set off in brackets. I have also added the FBI logo to the pages for creative purposes...it does not appear on any of the original documents.

       The final document on this list is not from the FBI files, but it is the culmination of all the information contained in the files. It is the complete transcript of Judy Holliday's testimony before the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee. Her testimony was released to the public in book form by the United States Government in September of 1952.

       For each document below I have written a "Backstory" which is a brief (1-2 paragraphs) overview of what the document is. It also may contain notations that were hand written on the document, background as to who the people in the document are and the importance of the document.
