- After listening to the new "Hot Spot" CD, I can pass along the following info about it: It has a lot of material on it (29 tracks in all). It is a mixture of a bootleg recording (made during an early preview performance of the show), studio recordings and demo tapes. The first 16 tracks are a live recording of the show. Anyone who has heard the bootleg cassette that has been circulating for years will recognize it as being the same, but the audio has been cleaned up some. Judy sings 7 songs, but unfortunately her voice is often muffled by the sound of the chorus and orchestra. I will say that her voice is relatively clear on the songs "That's Good, That's Bad", "Gabie" and "A Far, Far Better Thing." There are also 4 professionally recorded tracks that were made long after the show had closed. The 4 are: Phyllis Newman singing "Don't Laugh", The Eligibles singing "Hey Love" and "Gabie", and Betty Garrett singing "I Think the World of You". The last 9 tracks are from a demo tape and feature Mary Rodgers and Martin Charnin performing many songs that were cut from the show. The sound quality on those tracks is generally good. The CD also contains 7 small black & white pictures from the show and some brief liner notes. Overall, I would say if you're a fan of the material or of the composers, you'll probably enjoy the CD. But if your main motivation for buying it is Judy Holliday, you'll probably be somewhat disappointed.
- I have added a page for Hot Spot to the Music section.

Though that day is the 39th anniversary of her death, it is more likely a coincidence than a planned tribute to her. - I have updated the TV Schedule for the month of May. One of the movies being shown is "Greenwich Village" from 1944. It is seldomly shown on cable anymore and it is not available on VHS or DVD. The film was supposed to be the big movie debut of Judy and the rest of the Revuers, but their parts were substantially deleted from the final print. They can still be seen in the background of a couple of scenes. Judy is wearing an orange-colored dress and sporting her natural brown hair. Look for her about 22 minutes into the film.
