| The words above the photo in The Dark Room were written by Jim Morrison. (from 'The End' by The Doors) He surprised the band when he threw them in during a live performance of the song. They were inspired by the tale of 'Oedipus' from Greek mythology who was adopted and grew up to unwittingly kill his father and marry his own mother. That verse propelled The Doors into fame soon after it got them permanently banned from a bar called 'The Whiskey A Go-Go'. The reason for that was because of the last line to the verse which I left out. |
