I belong to a family that emigrated to South Africa in the 1820's and are known as the 1820 Settlers of South Africa.
I believe our family come from the Staffordshire area and are somehow connected to a brewery, possibly the Guiness Brewery (origins of ??) ------ I would be most interested to find out more, as I am in the UK, for study purposes until Sept 2004 and will also be going across to the US - dont think I have any relatives in the US tho -
Is there anyone out there who could point me in the right direction ???? PLEASE ........it would be most appreciated
