I have been scrapbooking for quite awhile, and enjoy making my own graphics. I decided to offer my steps that I've discovered, in case anyone else is interested in them. This EZ PSP9 tutorial explains how I create the 'sanded' or distressed paper look that I use in my scrapbooking. It works well on tags, shapes, papers, backgrounds, etc. This tute assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP. I hope you enjoy!.....Nef

| STEPS | EXAMPLE |
| 1. Open the image you wish to sand. 2. Set foreground color to #EED0A2 and using Flood Fill tool, paint your graphic. 3. Go to Effects>Texture>Texture>Canvas Simple. | ![]() |
| 4. Change your foreground color to #C09A85. 5. Select Floodfill tool...settings: RGB value; Tolerance=14 to 16; Blend Mode=Normal; Opacity=100%. 6. Click on the texture several times until you get the amount of 'sanding' you desire. Play with the tolerance between 14 and 16. | ![]() |
| 6. To change colors, while still preserving the tan 'sanded' area, go to Adjust>Color Balance>Color Balance and play with the settings to achieve the desired color. 7.Keep the "Midtones" button checked. 8. In my example, I used the settings of -50; 27; and 19. | ![]() |
Here is a finished example, using this technique.......
