Make an easy plaid background, using PSP9. No outside
filters are needed....no more drawing lines,
and flipping images.

1. Open a new image 110 x 110.
2. Floodfill with any color.

3. Effects> Artistic Effects> Halftone:
    Set properties at:
    Round; Size=9;
    Screen Angle=90;
    Check 'Use as Overlay';
    Blend mode=Normal;
    Opacity=60;
    Check Grayscale;
    Pick a color for your ink;
    Pick a contrasting color for your background;
    Uncheck Transparent Box. Click 'Okay.'
Result should look
like this:

4. Effects> Distortion Effects> Pixelate
    Pick any block number above 5.
    Check 'Symmetric.' Note: You will result
    in a gingham checked pattern
    if you select number 9.

Once you get the hang of this,
play with the opacity number in
the Halftone effect. This image
is done with 100 Opacity.

Do you want to make a quick,
matching set? Just duplicate your
image,after you apply the halftone
effect. On one, complete your
plaid. On the second one,
set your "Pixelate" at 9. This
will give you a gingham check.
Finally, reduce the size of
this image to 55 x 55.
