First lets have a picture of the two of us.

It was 6:01,the sun was still asleep. We loaded the trusty coach,of course we had to stop for ice.

Elf droped one,of course so I was sent after two more. After only 100 miles,we stoped in Payson,Az,for a lite breakfast..Then once again set off.

We had planed also for a lunch on the way, packed a great lunch at Elf's,and we were ready!!

Mother Nature said,"No Way",and provided us with wind, dust, and tumbleweeds.Elf fought up to 50 mile an hour winds from Holbrook.AZ,to Tucumcari,NM.

He griped the wheel until his knuckles turned white.

Blowing sand, and tumbleweeds were not an ideal addition to our lunch plans,so that didnt happen.

We stoped for the night in Tumcumcari,Nm,boy was it cold!!

Elf turned on what he thought was the heat in the Motel room, but was instead the AC..We froze all night..

We crawled out of bed the next morning, loaded up,and guess what?

Ice on the windshleld!! What a shock to old Az bones.

We revived our selves with coffee, and eggs, leaped back in the truck, and set our sights on Oklahoma, our next watering hole.

So with a hearty "Wagons Ho",we headed for Guthrie,Oklahoma.

Of course we had to dash thru Texas to get there.

Once more Mother Nature steped in,and gave us 30 miles of dense ground fog,and we felt like we were in the Twilight Zone.

It was so foggy,we missed the Texas sign, telling us we were there.

So as we left New Mexico, and dashed thru Texas,we looked liked this:
