Flags Raised In Victory Over Luichow



The U.S.(Stars and Stripes) and Chinese flags are raised in victory over the city of Luichow,China on August 6th, 1945. The former U.S. Army Air Force Base was recaptured from the Japanese on June 6, 1945. Luichow was the first of nine former 14th Air Force bases retaken from the Japanese by July 27th, 1945

Note the bomb crater holes in the center of the runway that were made by U.S. troops prior to our evacuation of the base earlier in the year
