The Brethren

A small group of interested writers meet at the church Fellowship Hall the first Monday evening (7:00 p.m.) of each month. They are members of the Missouri State Poetry Society, though membership is not required. They meet together to share what they have written either just recently or in the past. Some write prose as well as poetry. Some read poetry that they especially like that someone else has written. There are presently 10 members but they are always welcoming new persons to the group. There is some very interesting writing being shared! The MO State Poetry Society holds a writer contest each year and a couple of the group have been published in that way. One of the group already has a book of poetry published. Come and find out how you might be able to get into that contest. The Winter 2006 contest deadline is Feb. 15,2006. If you write poetry or just like to read poetry someone else has written, please join us.
