Misty was hatched in the state of Texas. Can you pick her out of this crowd of chicks? No.Darn! Reckon it's b`cause she was born...not hatched. Silly me.
For as many of these little guys Misty Dolittle helped into the world, it was an honest mistake. She was such a pro, you had to figure she came out of the egg herself.

Misty graced Alief, TX with her presence and then felt Alta Loma, TX should have a chance to know her.
In Alta Loma is where Misty's parents operated The Outback Emu Ranch.

Along with helping the little emu chicklettes into the world, Misty was a very avid 4-H'er. (I bet she got ribbons for "Best of the Unusual")

Naw, Misty just followed along in the footsteps of her brothers, Michael and Mark. First it was chicks and rabbits; then on to horseback riding and motorcross.
(Was there nothing this girl didn't try?)!
Mom and Dad just had to move in with the emus because the trophies these three children brought home took up the whole house!! Can you believe that?! Darn!! Well... I bet it was real close!

At the age of nine, Misty started on her way to collecting trophies by starting her English riding lessons. Along the way, her parents seperated and now Miss Misty has FOUR loving parents. (Look out Christmas!)

At 19 years old Misty took on the responsibility of running the Texas Outback Emu Ranch. while Mom and step-dad, Curtis, expanded the operation to Benson, Arizona, and, where Mom had a book published titled "Raising Emus". Way to go Mom!! It made the New York best seller list!! Okay....the Tombstone` best seller list.

I heard that while she was growing up, Misty did a lot of things that were very shocking. (I told you there was nothing this girl wouldn't try) Shoot, she'd do them right in the middle of the 'swap meet'!! She even got PAID to do these shocking things every week !! Satisfied a lot of customers too !! yep, yep, yep...quite the small appliance repair person she was!!! (GOTCHA!)

Misty was saving her money to help get her to Phoenix where she wanted to find the exotic life, she got her wish. and was soon surrounded by all kinds of strange and exotic creatures. (No, not male dancers. No, not her cousins from Tucson, either...though I have heard that the one they call Don is real strange...ssshhh :-) But, birds, reptiles and exotic creatures of every kind.

Tsk, tsk...it's not safe to have a little red truck in the Phoenix area...not since Misty moved there with her little red toyota. Misty has been pulled over for the silliest things. It has been deduced that because Misty is soooo attractive, the lawmen are pulling her over just to get their daily dose of a vision of Misty. Then, they can complete their day with joy in their hearts.

So if you're pulled over in the Phoenix area and the officer is beaming and lets you off with just a warning, you know why...he's had a dose of Misty radiance.

Most persons who watched as these pages were being developed had the precious honor of getting to know Misty and knew that she had cancer. OnWednesday January 19, 2000 Misty Ridlen went to be with her Lord, as well as her Mam-ma Katie whom she loved so deeply. Our prayers are offered for her parents, brothers, sister-in-law and neices. Misty will be laid to rest in Brenham,Texas. Services will be held Saturday January 22, 2000 1:00 PM at Brenham Memorial Chapel - 509 S. Baylor in Brenham, Texas. (409) 836-3611. She will be surrounded by a very large family and countless friends from all over the US and indeed, the world. Michelle Christina Ridlen March 9, 1972 to January 19, 2000.

"The bravest person we`ve ever had the pleasure to know!" We love you, Misty. Aunt Kathie, Uncle Bob and cousins, Tucson, Arizona.
