I Don't Need

I don't need your help,
I can make a bed just fine,
I can do it by myself,
In about half the time.

I don't need paw prints
All over the table,
Too much trouble to clean
Even when I'm able.

I don't need you
Crowding me at night
Taking over the bed,
And putting up a fight.

I don't need your help
When I try to cook,
Do the laundry,
Or read a book.

I don't need your help
To sweep the floor,
Dust the furniture,
Or open the door.

I don't need you to tell me
Not to be late,
Get a move on,
And fill up your plate.

I don't need you
To lie on my lap.
All the day long,
While you catnap.

I don't need your
Stinky butt in my face
I know who you are
And that you live in this place.

I don't need you
In places so high,
Jumping on me
As I walk by.

I don't need your paws
From under the bed
Killing my feet,
Until they are dead.

I don't need noses
Stuck to the glasses
From cats who watch
To see who passes.

I don't need lamps,
And other things scattered
But when it's said and done,
What does it matter?

You bring joy to my life
And brighten my day,
For every trouble you create
You take so much more away.
