~ Progress? ~
I was reading an email about how
things were 100 years ago. It makes
me sad to read things like this.
People think we have made huge
progress but they are sooooo
wrong...where's the progress?
We now have roads and houses
where nature once stood. We now
have industry polluting our air and
water. We now have airplanes
making it possible for our families to
move far away from us and also
making it possible for terrorists to
move in and play havoc. We now
have war equipment designed to
destroy the world...what progress?
Do you see a pattern here?
We now have tons of schools where
our children are forced to go, and if
they don't (if they skip too much),
they are taken out of the home. And if
they don't learn up to par, they are
not considered hirable by the world.
At least in the yesterday people could
work without knowing the A,B,C's, or
at least hunt for a living. Today there
are very few places to hunt and you
need money to go there, you need a
license etc., and you can't fish in
polluted waters.
Yesterday mothers were in the
kitchen being moms, not in the work
force; kids were home drinking
chocolate milk and helping with
chores, not out there doing drive by
shootings; and dad's came home as
tired as mom so therefore wanted no
part of going to the nearest club to
find a woman on the side.
Yesterday neighbors respected the
property of others and if they gave
you their word on something you
could pretty much believe it...so
where's the progress?
Well, enough said, you pretty much
have the idea of what I'm trying to get
across. I'm sorry to be so negative,
but I see today's "progress" as a huge
loss rather than a blessing.
Satan has us by the throat and he's not
letting go, and worse? we think it's all
wonderful!!...It's progress you know.
