My heart still hurts for the
September 11 victims.
We must be ready for
we don't know tomorrow.
Tomorrow may be one day too late.

Richard

THE DAY BEFORE

Monday September 10
Was the day before.
We all thought for tomorrow
A normal day was in store.

In the blink of a human eye
Bodies were greeted with fire.
Too late to cry "Lord! Lord!"
After their earthly bodies expire.

In that same blink of the eye,
To loved ones many said goodbye.
For their eternal souls I pray,
With a tear in each eye.

Were they right with God
Or were they waiting one more day?
Depending on their spiritual condition
Heaven or hell, their soul will stay.

They were innocent victims
But were they ready for God to see?
If our door to tomorrow is unlocked
It is God who must turn the key.

We cannot wait 'til tomorrow
For God to accept.
Satan is always lurking around
For our souls to intercept.

I pray that from this tragedy
Getting right with God we learn.
If we don't,
forever in hell
Our souls will burn.

The rescue workers
Are The heroes of the day.
For them not enough good words
Am I able to write or say.

They proved the depth
Of their love;
Dying for their neighbor
As commanded by God above.

The day before we meet our maker
Is when we all must decide.
Tomorrow may be too late to choose
Where our soul will forever reside.
