She marvelled at the glorious colors
The leaves all orange and red
She'd never seen such a beautiful display
Except in books she'd read
She wondered if heaven was as colorful
As the foliage is here on earth
She looked forward to this wonder
She'd inherited with her rebirth
She gave Jesus a quick thank you
For offering her such solace
A heavenly refuge of splendor
Of a totally peaceful place
Her meditations drifted to the bible
And of promises made to her
But her favorite verses of all
Are of her personal Savior
Jesus came to rescue her
He hung upon a tree
He was tortured and forsaken
And for this there is no fee
She wonders at the love
He so lovingly and freely gives
To one such as her
Who for sin so long she lived
One day she'll have a mansion
Placed in heaven just for her
With trees as colorful as these
Maybe a bed of flowers
But it doesn't really matter
As long as she's with God
In His heavenly abode
That's all she really wants
