The Goal
I have love maybe
But courage I'm not so sure about
There's always a layer of fear
Which often borders on doubt
Fear lies just beneath the surface
Waiting
Waiting to come forth
Planning
Planning To play havoc in my heart
I'm told by a friend sincere
"There is no authentic courage
where there is no fear"
Fear is sometimes natural
Life is precarious as we all know
And if it weren't for my faith in Jesus
I'd never make it through
I walk scared...but I walk in faith
Faith that He will guide me by the hand
I know that's a direct contradiction
But that's where I take my stand
A dear sister brought my thinking straight
She said right from her heart
"No it's not a contradiction,
It's honest and mature from the start"
She said:
"Real honest and mature bravery
Walk hand in hand with faith
Otherwise...courage is equal to
madness and self-destruction ...That
is not your fate"
It's sort of like riding the roller coaster
you are scared during the ride
But you know in your mind and heart
That you'll make it to the other side
But she said something amazing
Through her spiritual eyes
She saw the importance in the goal
Not in the ride
She said
I don`t care if you don`t make it
because, In Jesus, walking by His
light is the goal, not getting to the
end of the road

I just had to write this poem from a
reply to a letter written to a dear and
wise sister and friend...she has
lovingly given me permission to share
her words of wisdom with all who
read this poem.
God bless you ((((Georgina))))
