He was such a sweet boy
Long long ago
Before the lure of drugs
In his heart took hold
He'd sit with his family
In a circle on the floor
Sharing life and laughter
With the babies at the core
His love for the children
Was true and real
But he was robbed of all this
Through his drug appeal
Now he sits in a jail cell
Awaiting the day
He's released from prison
So he can go back and play
Not with the children
Not with the kin
But he will play his game
Of drugs all over again
He's never learned
In his 50 years of life
That you never find peace
While in the devil's vice

This poem depicts a real
person and real events.
It breaks my heart that
so many lives and souls
are destroyed by the use
of drugs and alcohol.
I met him when he was a
young man...filled with
love,compassion and a
good outlook on life.
...until.
Please remember to keep
these lost souls in
your prayers.
