You have a right to be sad You've been through a lot today So long as you have Jesus with you You're still very much ok Being a Christian doesn't mean That we have to be happy each day That's what people would have you think But that's not the true Christian way Jesus got angry Jesus sweat blood Jesus wept Did this mean He didn't love Did this mean He didn't trust Did this mean He didn't have faith Did this mean He wasn't obedient Did this mean He fell from Grace We're entitled to feelings That don't always feel great But no matter how bad we feel Praise Him anyways Praise Him for our ability to feel Praise Him that we can know pain Praise Him that we learn from all Praise Him that His wisdom we gain Praise Him for the reality of feelings Embrace them and allow them to be Allow Jesus to soothe your brow Allow Him to set you free Let Him soothe your heart Let Him uplift your spirits Let him wrap you in His arms For comfort He's with us forever Not just in happy times He loves us when we laugh He loves us when we whine All we need do Is give it all to Him Feelings are not the crime Hiding from Him is the sin © Mary Silva January, 2005 The beautiful butterflies are the talented creation of Andy.
