A Life Of Dreams
My dream when I was a little girl
Was to own a "Mama" doll
But then as I grew older
With boys I became enthralled
Marraige and children
Became my newfound dream
In the house behind the picket fence
My little family would be seen
As my children were born
And they began to grow
My dreams were of college
But dreaded the day they go
Then as college became
A non-reality
My dreams turned to something new
A grandma I now wanted to be
My dreams continued
As my grandchildren got older
I wonder if "great grandmother"
Could go into my dream folder
Low and behold
God saw fit to oblige
My new great grandson
On Christmas eve arrived
Dreams are for the dreamer
So a dreamer I must be
Are there any more dreams
That could come true for me
Even if there are none
I'm happy as can be
With all that has been given
The answers to all my dreams
I could have dreamed higher
Dreamed of dollars and of fame
But I don't want the glory life
Just for someone to love my name
When all my days are over
I want to still be beloved
As special and a treasure
In the hearts of those I've loved
When my final dream comes true
Of heaven and all it's charm
I will go with Grace and pleasure
Into Jesus waiting arms
