Along the shores of eternity
He plods the trodden path
Looking for peace and solace
There's none to be had
The waters of the eons
Are too deep for him
he can not enter in
His is the ways of the world
Temptations abound
He sins
He knows he's out of the will of God
Tears flow behind the smile
He knows the day is near
When he'll be cast into exile
He walked away from the cross of
Jesus
He walked away from His love
He walked away from all he holds
dear...
His treasures stored above
The demons inside are legion
Too many to behold
He took his eyes off Jesus
They've kept him from the fold
The family of God is waiting
To usher him back in
But the obsessions too great
...for sin
He weeps
He hears the call
He knows his destiny
He knows the Way
He knows the Truth
He knows how to be free
But he chooses the shores of eternity
He chooses the trodden path
Hoping to be forgiven
In the aftermath
The cleansing waters of the eons
Can wash away his pain
Jesus awaits with arms outstretched
To receive him once again
Full of compassion
Ready to forgive
Ready with love.......
