~ The Lonely Place ~

The lonely place
The place where I'm alone
The place where no one else
Can come to help my soul

The lonely place
Where I'm not distracted
Where things are magnified
And my thoughts are not intact

The lonely place
Where fear has it's grip
There's no one to turn to
It's just me...that's it

Reality is gone
It for now doesn't exist
It's just me alone
Trying to make sense
...out of life

I know the answer
I know the key
To unlock the door
To set me free

Free from the lonely place
So dark and unsure
I know where to turn
To again feel secure

Psalms 23:1 ~ The LORD is my
shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalms 23:4 ~ Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil: for thou art
with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me.

I wrote this poem during one of
the painful moments of missing
my husband who passed on
Valentine's Day of this year.
