Resting In God's Love

I was sitting neath a tree
Resting in God's land
When out popped a little bird
No bigger than my hand

He stood in front of me
And strutted with pride
Every now and then
Looking to see if I smiled

It seemed he wanted me to notice
The display he put on for me
It seemed he knew I needed that
To set my spirit free

Does God use even little birds
To comfort and console?
Could this little guy be heaven sent?
To ease my burdened soul?

There is so much joy in the little things If
we take the time to see
That the earth doesn't revolve
Around just you and me

There are flowers and trees
Oceans and skies
All of God's creation
Right before our eyes

The beauty is breathtaking
His creatures a joy
If we just take the time
To sit back and enjoy

I can't help but Praise God
When I rest in His land
When I rest in His love
When I rest in His hand

There is no greater peace
Than resting in His arms
And letting Him soothe
My hurting heart
Thank you and Praise you Jesus!!
