~ A Mother's Heart ~
He placed it in a mother's heart
To love her family beyond compare
To worry when they stray
Beyond the normal fare
To cry with them insatiably
To laugh when they are glad
To encourage them when they lack
To discipline when they are bad
He's made us in His image
The way He loves His child
(But we pale in comparison
His love makes our love seem mild)
So please don't ever think
worry's not from above
He placed it in our hearts
It's part of how we love
And if we never got upset
When our child goes astray
How would our heart know
That it's time to pray
If we never got fretful
When our childs on a limb
What signal would tell us
To intervene for him
Our wonderful Father
Out of His concerns
Sent us His word
So we could learn
To us, His children
Whom He frets over so much
He sent His beloved Son
To take the pain for us
He gave us Jesus
And Calvary
So we could have life
So abundantly
To worry is to care
To care is to love
And it's all God given
In His Image from above
But He sent us someone
To bear our woes
He sent Jesus our Saviour
In His victory we're clothed
We put on God's Armour
And face the fears
We get on our knees
We plead with tears
We give our hearts to our child
In much the same way
As God gave His heart
When Jesus gave His life that day
Our loves only a measure
A small reflection of Him
But please don't say
that to worry Is sin
God worried about us
He loves us that much
But He gave us a Saviour
His garment I touch
At His feet I sit
His Wonder I adore
It's for His Grace
That I kneel on the floor
I kneel for forgiveness
For mercy and praise
I kneel for His presence
He will help me to raise
Raise up to my feet
Raise up to to the task
Of receiving His blessings
In His love I bask
He gave me a mothers heart
So I'd know to come to Him
He gave me the tears I cry
Please don't ever call this sin
