~ A Freedom Place ~
I'm roaming the hills
in a freedom place:
full of creation,
with the wind in my face.
Feeling nomadic,
no cares in the world,
experiencing nature
as she unfurls.
At one with the universe,
at peace with myself,
feeling closer to God,
I've put life on a shelf.
Wild flowers sway gently,
their aroma fills the air,
the trees play soft music
as they rustle with a flair.
I lie in the grass,
a blade in my mouth,
watching the ducks
all heading south.
They fly in formation
to another land,
the scene is lazy,
the feeling grand
A little squirrel
peeks out from behind a tree
curiously watching
for what he can see,
he nibbles a tidbit
that he's found in his path,
he leaps from his branch,
he feels no wrath,
he frolics; he plays;
he appears free from strife;
in this simple way,
he lives out his life.
The birds: they flit
and twitter and sing;
the least of their worries
is what tomorrow will bring.
There are butterflies,woodchucks,
an occasional snake;
in my freedom place
many creatures have a space.
They live, they play,
they survive and they're free;
this is the way
life ought to be.
roaming the hills
in a freedom place,
feeling nomadic
with the wind on my face;
experiencing nature
as she unfurls,
at one with creation,
at peace with the world.
Feeling God's presence
as never before,
in my freedom place....
with Him....
