Keep Renfrew Clean ...
Coming into Renfrew, my home town, I pause at the High Street to just look down
on a nostalgic memory, of a wee narrow street, with peope all bustling, but using their feet.
We'd no big stores that you could talk thro', but plenty of hawkers brought their wares to you.
Coalman, Fruit & Veg, Fishermen did their round, lovely Loch Fyne herring, three bawbees a pound.
Now times have changed, it's a big open space, instead of tram lines, flower beds take their place.
The people come shopping by car and bus, to everyone it all seems a fuss.
Visitors to the town soon get rid of their gloom, just getting a glimpse of Renfrew in bloom. You can hear them talk and pass many a remark, of the wonderful floral display in Robertson Park.
So all you locals look around and open your eyes, and appreciate all our beauty 'neath the blue skies.
Don't spread litter, keep the town tidy and clean,
and don't do anything to spoil the scene.
