| Chatelherault Hunting Lodge: The lodge was finish in 1744 and was described by William Adam its designer as 'The Dogg [yes, bubble] Kennells at Hamilton', because the Duke of Hamilton kept his hunting dogs there. Today, it has been well restored and a nice place to spend the day. It has a gift shop, exhibition area and a tea room. You can look across the Dukes Bridge and see the ruins of ancient Cadzow Castle overlooking the Avon Gorge. The famous Cadzow Oaks still grow there, many dating back to the 15th century. |
