| The Hill House: Is at Helensburgh and is said to be the finest of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's domestic commissions. It was designed and built for the publisher Walter Blackie between 1902 and 1904, and is situated about 23 miles from Glasgow. The house is now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. There is a very scenic walk that can be taken from the parking lot which gives a good view across Helensburgh to the Firth of Clyde. Now ... if you like ice cream *grin* then make sure you stop in at the Café across from the Pier and ask for a "99", I promise you won't be disappointed! |
