  • Only forty minutes from Glasgow, the Castle and the Wallace Monument are a must.

Stirling Castle

  • The home to King John of Scotland before he was exiled to France.
  • Mary Queen of Scots also lived there, and she like King John was exiled to France, she was beheaded in 1587.
  • See the throne where King James VI was crowned at the age of one in 1568. King James VI of Scotland later became King James I of England in 1603.
  • Visit the graves of King David I (1147), King James III (1488) and his Queen, Margaret of Denmark.

  • If you are not a shopper and not interested in touring Stirling Castle, or climbing the 246 steps of the Wallace Monument, stlll go because it's a beautiful ride and you can see it all in one day!
