| Beyond Kinlochbervie at Oldshoremore lies one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Sutherland. Formed from eroded sandstone and seashells, the white sand beach is surrounded by marram gras dunes [machair]. With over 200 different species of flowering plants, the maihair is home to the bluebell, red clover, cinquefoil and early purple orchid. The Sutherland area attracts a wide variety of bird life, including black guillemots, artic terns and the rare whitetailed sea eagle. |
