Gradient Columns with Designs from
Image Magick's Patterns

Choose a design from one of the many patterns at Image Magick. To find out how to isolate a design from one of Image Magick's patterns, click HERE.

In this example, I chose the horizontalsaw pattern and I isolated the design.

I sized it 100w X 400h.

Result:

After outputting the above as a GIF, I re-entered it at I.M.

I used Transform to "flip" it, and then I composited the same "HorizontalSaw" using "Bumpmap".

Result:

Then I used F/X Swirl @ 270 to create this result:

I made a gradient at I.M. I chose the colors Black-Saddlebrown.

Result:

I made the width 400 and the height 50.

Then using Transform, I rotated it to the left using -90.

Result:

I outputted the above naming it LeftBlackSaddlebrownGrad.

I re-entered the LeftBlackSaddlebrownGrad at I.M.

I used Transform to "FLOP" it.

I outputted the result naming it RightBlackSaddlebrownGrad.

Result:

Then I composited the LeftBlackSaddlebrownGrad.gif "WEST" over the SwirlMirroredHorizontalSaw.gif using the "Hardlight" effect.

Finally, I composited the RightBlackSaddlebrownGrad.gif "EAST" over the SwirlMirroredHorizontalSaw.gif using the "Hardlight" effect.

Let's FLOP that column.....

Make or find a background that you would like to place between the 2 columns. 440w x 400h.

Make or find a Black GIF (you may transload this one).....

Black.gif 640w x 400h

Composite the left Column over the Black gif @ WEST.

Composite the right Column over the Black gif @ EAST.

Composite the background that you want placed between the 2 columns over the Black gif @ center.....
