History ~ Ray Bruce
::<<<<::>>>>:: ::<<<<::>>>>::

Ray Bruce is a Native-American;
an Apache desendant from Geronimo,
born in Las Vegas, Nevada...
raised by his parents:
Will & Flo Mullendore in Oklahoma
on country meals, country morals and country music.

His name "Mullendore" is a famous one in the Oklahoma Ranching and Political world
in the beginning Ray went by his name R. B. Mullendore
...but no one in the music business could remember it, pronoun it, or much less spell it.
So Ray decided to go by the names he's been called all his life,
his first and middle names. Raymond Bruce
Everyone at school called him Ray and his family calls him Bruce,
so Ray Bruce it is.

From a tender age his gift of music
was tapped and marked for life
by the innovators
of the Pioneer Country Music Era.
Ray was only six years old
when he made his onstage debut
singing "Talk Back Tremblin Lips"
in his Uncle Jr's "Country Gentlemen Band"
from Stillwater,Oklahoma.

Although Ray has a rowdy passion for Traditional Country
his writing and performing is influenced by a vast variety of music.
He treasures 50's Rock-n-Roll relics.
Southern Gospel hits a high note in his heart,
while the outlaw country sound flows naturally
straight from his psyche to make a home in his voicebox.

Despite all the culture that's been thrown his way,
Ray says he credits his greatest musical inspirations to the music of
Hank Williams Sr.. "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"
was the first song he learned to play on his uncle's guitar.

Ya might say Ray's original sound and songwriting style
can be described as a blend of Vintage Country,
a touch of Gospel, heavy on the Hardcore Outlaw
mixed with a hint of Hillbilly Rock.
Ray's versatile songwriting
catalog consist of more than 88 songs.

~ A JUKEBOX VOICE ~

Aside from his original sound
Ray possesses a uniquely diverse singing voice
or "voices" as he calls them.
His heartfelt singing and his impeccible phrasing
allow him to emulate various artits styles such as
Hank Williams Sr. & Jr. Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell,
Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, George Jones,
Waylon Jennings, Buddy Holly and John Anderson
Not to mention about twenty other artists.
oh, and even mickey mouse too but he'd never admit it...SSH!

Wow! Now that's talent.
