To make a long 2 or 3 year story short, they have saved me a hundred
arguments with my husband.
The turkeys around here pretty much have free reign. We have an old 78
Ford pickup that the turkeys just can't seem to resist the shiney chrome
and bumpers on it. They have fought with their selves for hours. Well the
problem started when my husband bought his new 04 GMC pickup. It is Onyx
Black and has all kinds of chrome. I looked out by chance one day and there
where 10 to 15 Turkeys surrounding his truck. Well to say the least the war
had started. I understand that we can't afford to let these birds destroy
a brand new vehicle, but I couldn't see killing them either. Number one it
wasn't turkey season and we could get in a lot of trouble. And number two there
is no way we would ever eat that many turkeys. As you know if you have visited
my site I do not believe in killing anything unless you intend to eat it.
So this is when the TWRA came to the rescue. I called and was directed to the
person I needed to speak with. I was contacted with in 24 hours and with in a
week the problem was solved. I won't mention names with out their permission
but I was really impressed by how nice, helpfull, and professional the man I
delt with was. I really kind of dreaded calling because I had been told all I
would get was the run around. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
So a very huge Thank You to the TWRA and Officer T.A.

I did get a couple from my surviellance cameras but not my video camera that I
had set up. I made sure a new tape, charged battery, settings were set,
everything working fine. The only thing I can figure out is I was so excited
and trying to be quite and not be seen that I didn't hit the record button
hard enough and well I still have a blank tape.
The pics I got are not that great the resolution is horrible
but you can get the idea.

I also wanted to mention that the turkeys were relocated to
Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest in east Tennessee.
When they left here their feathers were ruffled a little but
they were perfectly okay.
And for those that think if you do this you will never see another turkey
on your place, WRONG. The same day that these were captured, by that afternoon
I had 17 jakes come out of the woods to drink from my garden pond behind the house
and I have seen plenty more since then. Luckily they are staying away from
around the house and vehicles.
