My father Loved the Railroad. He worked for the Milwaukee Road
since I was a little girl. He started out in a differant
field completely, but working for the railroad was the life
my Father seemed to enjoy.

Warm Memories
A man's garden and his children both reflect the amount of weeding
done during the growing season. My season is full of wonderful
memories of your love and devotion. I am honored to know you,
to love you, to be of you.
You're my hero and I will always be your
"Little Girl".

When I was in grade school, I could remember my father taking
me and my sister to the railroad yard and he had a friend
whom was an engineer. He had him take us for a ride back
and fourth in the train yard. Lot of the railroad men would
do this back in those days. Kids loved it and it was exciting.
I can appreciate those Memories of being with Dad on the
job.

Dear Dad
I seldom took the time to tell you, All the things I felt.
I want to tell you that my love for you was and is very real.
I'll long appreciate your many Kind and thought deeds.
You've always been so sensitive Responding to my needs.
I feel that you are and were special; Let me thank you from
my heart For all your treasured wisdom And the warmth that you
imparted. I always will respect you for The ways in which
you cared. It's reassuring knowing that
Your love is still always there.

Now being older and a parent my self, my kids also have been
to "Grandpa's" work and had that same train ride that I have
had as a little girl. I can remember the last time back in
1996 my father taking me, my 2 younger kids and my nephew to
the train yard and going for a ride in the engine with a engineer
friend of his. I never would pass up an oppertunity like this.
It brought back "Childhood Memories" that I still hold Dearly
and close to my Heart.

You're a special Father...
For always seeing the best in me, for all the things you've
helped me be, for all the thoughtful things you have done,
there is and never will be a father quite like you.

The last 10 yrs of my father's life, seemed to center around his job,
his family and grandchildren; fixing and repairing things around
the house and Camping up at the trailer. I know he bought this
more so for his grandkids than his self. Seemed that this was the
only place my kids could be a kid without "Grandma"
yelling at them to settle down.....LOL

At the time my father passed away, the Milwaukee Road was no longer.
The were bought out by the Soo Line Railroad and after that,
Soo Line sold to C P Rail. There a Canadian owned Company.
My father was an employee for CP Railroad at the time of his sudden
death. He had a lot of railroad buddies from working with all three
railroad companies and was loved by many.

Here's a picture of my father and a couple of his good friends
that he worked with on the "Milwaukee Road". The man in the
"middle" is my Father. The man on the left we knew as
"The General", he had passed away before my father. The man
on the right is still alive and was a very close friend to my father.
He still works for the railroad, but under the name "CP Rail".

Here's a few more pictures of my father that I want to share with you.
The 1st one, im not sure on the date and I don't know the man
my Father is standing next to. But I can tell you that it
was taken in Bensenville, IL at the then called
"Soo Line Railroad" yard.

This is my Favorite picture of my father. This was taken
almost 2 years before he died, taken September 03, 1995.
After he died, I had this particular picture blown up to
poster size and curreltly is displayed in my living-room.

are taken from you too soon.

This one is of my father on his bicycle in his backyard in Chicago, IL.
I have no idea on a date of this picture, cause it comes from
my Father's sister. Im guessing that he maybe have been around
5 or 6 years old.

Picture-4

After my father died, I had asked his sister that still lives in the
home my father grew up in, if she had anything that was my father's
when he was a little boy. She had this very old Tank
that you wind up and it moves. It's a "Marx E-12 Tank"
from approximately 1942. I was so thrilled to have something
of my father's, yet sad that I couldn't have gotten it when he was
still alive. Click on the button below to see this Antique Toy.

My father was also a U.S. Marine. I know this was one of the things
he talked about the most as he was very proud that he served his
country. Here's a picture I have added from those days. Im not
sure on the exact year, but it would have been in the years before
his father died, between 1956 and October of 1958.
