Just a personal collection of things that relate to
my Irish Heritage and were found across the "WWW".

Clandagh Ring gif

I dont remember where I found this Gold Clandaugh Ring,
but this is what mine looks like exactly.
Its special to me because of my Irish Heritage.

My Irish Heritage comes from my Father's side of the family.
My Grandmother, Bridget (nee Kivlan) Tracey,
was born in Drumahair, Co. Leitrim, Ireland and came to the
United States on a Ship when she was 22 yrs old.
Her sister was already in Chicago, Illinois.
Her sister was approximately 14 yrs older than her.
Grandma came from a family of 8 children, including herself,
I found out April 2002. I was pointed to the:

Leitrim-Roscommon
1901 Census Records

by someone whom had read a post of mine. Without this person
responding to my email message-post, I don't think
I would have found this information yet.

*UPDATE* - July 24, 2002

I have been contacted as of July 14th of 2002 by a family member on my grandmother
Beatrice Kivlan's side of the family. This would be her baby brother
John Kivlan's branch that I never new! Her name is Shelia
and we were both so excited to speak on the phone Sunday, July 21st, 2002.

I have my grandmother's death certificate whereas, I obtained
her mother's Given name. This helped to tie the connection
that indeed these are my Kivlan ancestors.
I was also able to confirm some of the syblings by the
addresses my 2nd cousin has in her Grandmother's phonebook.
It includes addresses in Ireland that my G-Aunt use to write
home to. My G-Aunt was, Helen Margaret "Maggie" Gallagher
(nee Kivlan). She married Hugh Gallagher.

My grandfather, John Joseph Tracey. He was born in
Chicago, Illinois. His father was from Boston, Massachusetts
and came to Chicago, Illinois with his wife where they
started their family. I just recently picked up a copy of
my Grandfather's death certificate. It lists his mother as
"Anna Conlon" (correct spelling is "Conlin").
The listing of his father shows as "Unknown Tracey".
So as you see I have a lot of work ahead of me. Next step
is to get a copy of his Social Security card application,
to see what further information I can obtain. My Aunt's don't
know when my Grandfather and Grandmother got married,
so this will require some searching on my part.

See the start of my RootsWeb page for more of a break-down
on what I have so far. You can find the link here:

My Grandfather was not the oldest of all the Children.
Grandpa comes from a family of 6 children, including himself
and one sister. I haven't figured out much about my grandfather's
side of the family todate and still need to research
and interview family more.

I started looking into my Family Genealogy after I lost
my father. I wanted to see if I had any other relatives
in the States. I managed to find a paternal 2nd cousin
in California. It was a fluke thing that I found him so
quickly too. We did exchange email and have talked on the phone
once also. I was able to email him some pictures of myself,
my father and my dads sisters and brothers. His grandfather
and my grandfather where Brother's, mine being the older of the two.

My cousin Richard does have a website up about his Family
Genealogy on the Tracey side. This is how I found
out we were related. I seen my Father's name and his brother's
and sister's listed. Here is the Link to his site:
