PrackensStuff1 - Charset PrackensStuff1 TTF

These black and white photos are from a CD I purchased They are free to use for PERSONAL use, but you may not use them in anything for sale. They are digitally marked and can be tracked.

The purpose of this exercise is to show you a couple of simple methods of coloring a black and white photo. If you have access to any of your own B&W photos, I encourage you to try this on one of them, as well. You will like the results.

The first method - I used the White Peony for this one.

At IM, enter the url for the peony ( or your photo )

Scroll down to the paint function below the photo.

Choose: Fuzz=9999
Method=RESET
Paint type=Color

Type the color you want in the bx - I used # 661166

The next page you will see your image has changed to one solid block of color. .

Next go to Composite

Enter the url for the peony (or your photo) in the text bx

Choose Bumpmap

Click composite

Repeat the composite step

Output & save as a jpg

Peony Example 1 Peony Example 2

TIP - SIgn your work in such a way that if someone "swipes" it, they will have a real tough time erasing it!

NEXT METHOD CCP the photo into your find box

Make a plasma background the same size at the photo you wish to use.

I used the glass ball, so my plasma was 244 x 370

Go to EFFECTS

Choose SPREAD 10x10

Go to composite

Choose Bumpmap

Click composite

Example 1

If you want to add something to the ball for interest, see the examples below.

The font is PrackensStuff1 - Letter Q (upper case) (NOTE-this letter actually has a butterfly_&_dragonfly. I erased the butterfly. If you use it, you'll have to keep the butterfly.

BUT, letter W (upper case) is a single dragonfly.

Use rotate in ANNOTATE to position them at different angles

Example 2

Example 3

Example 4 (Letter W)

If your images are too dark, go to ENHANCE and use Gamma 1.6 or brightness @ 170 or so.

Ship - Gradient - Just comp'd

Ship - Gradient - comp'd & Brightness @ 170

I think the palm trees and the ship would be stunning with just the right gradient background!

So - off ya go! Make me some pretties!

HAVE FUN!!!
